Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026

Welcome to Visualq IDE. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our quantum circuit design platform.

Beta Version Notice: Visualq IDE is currently in beta. At this stage, the application does not have user accounts and does not store any confidential information on our servers. All data remains on your local device.

1. Information We Collect

Currently, Visualq IDE only handles the following information during your session:

  • API Credentials (Session Only): If you choose to connect to quantum backends (IBM Quantum, IonQ, AWS Braket), your API keys are stored temporarily in an encrypted server-side session using AES-GCM 256-bit encryption. These credentials are automatically deleted when you close the application or your session expires. They are used solely to authenticate with the respective quantum cloud providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

At this time, Visualq IDE does not collect or store any user data on our servers. The application operates entirely on the client side. Your circuit designs, preferences, and any cached data remain exclusively on your device.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

Visualq IDE operates primarily as a client-side application. Your circuit designs, preferences, and cached data are stored locally in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. This data remains on your device unless you explicitly export or share it.

3.2 API Credentials Security

If you choose to store API credentials for quantum backends (IBM, IonQ, AWS), these credentials are encrypted using AES-GCM 256-bit encryption before being stored locally. We do not transmit or store your API credentials on our servers.

3.3 Backend Communication

When executing circuits on quantum hardware, your circuit data and credentials are transmitted securely via HTTPS to the respective quantum cloud providers. We act as a proxy to facilitate these connections but do not retain your circuit execution data.

4. Third-Party Services

Visualq IDE integrates with the following third-party quantum computing platforms:

  • IBM Quantum: Subject to IBM's Privacy Policy
  • IonQ: Subject to IonQ's Privacy Policy
  • AWS Braket: Subject to AWS Privacy Notice

When you use these services through Visualq IDE, your data is also governed by their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review these policies before connecting your accounts.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share information
  • Service Providers: With trusted third parties who assist in operating our service
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Data Portability: Export your circuit designs and settings
  • Opt-Out: Disable analytics and optional data collection

To exercise these rights, you can clear your browser's local storage or contact us at the email address provided below.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Visualq IDE uses minimal cookies and tracking technologies. We use localStorage to remember your preferences (theme, language, settings) and session data. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. International Data Transfers

If you access Visualq IDE from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred across international borders. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
